Materials Used In Fetemm Workshops

FETEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) workshops have many positive effects on children. These workshops help children develop critical thinking, problem solving and creative thinking skills. At the same time, they enable them to learn science and technology in a fun and engaging way.

Through group work and projects, they develop collaboration and communication skills. They also learn to use technology more effectively and safely.

The materials used in FETEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) workshops may vary depending on the projects and activities.

  • Computers and Software: Computers, tablets, and various software for coding and programming (e.g., Scratch, Python, CAD software).
  • 3D Printers and Filaments: 3D printers are devices that convert digital designs into physical objects, while filaments can be defined as the raw material used by 3D printers.
  • Electronic Components: Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensors, LEDs, resistors, cables and breadboards.
  • Hand Tools: Small hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, soldering iron, solder wire.
  • Robotics Kits: Robotics sets such as LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics, mBot.
  • Building Materials: Wood, metal, plastic sheets, screws and bolts.
  • Lab Equipment: Microscope, pipette, tubes and other basic lab tools.
  • Play Dough and Modeling Clay: Used to develop manual skills, especially for young students.
  • Mechanical Parts: Gears, motors, wheels and axles of various sizes.

These materials provide students with the opportunity to develop problem-solving, creative thinking and collaboration skills by working on various projects. FETEMM workshops aim to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

As Teknomakerlab, we aimed for our students to learn science while having fun in the fetemm workshops we set up.

Open up space for fetemm workshops in your institutions and be a part of the development of future engineers!
